Thinking about a Chemical Peel?

Millions of chemical peels are performed every year; it’s a way of giving your skin a fresh beginning and revealing the flawless complexion that is right beneath the surface!

What is a chemical peel?

Chemical peeling is a skin rejuvenation technique designed to improve the appearance of your skin. The procedure aims to accelerate skin exfoliation with the use of medical grade chemical substances. During a chemical peel, a solution is applied to the skin surface, causing the cells to separate and peel off. The result is renewed, healthier-looking skin and a more uniform complexion.

Here at The G Spa, we offer many medical grade peels, including our top-of-the-line Vitalize Peel by SkinMedica! We combine the benefits of alpha-hydroxy and retinoic acid with a unique blend of cosmeceuticals to create unbelievable results. This process thoroughly and evenly exfoliates the epidermis and reveals healthier, more youthful-looking skin with a smoother texture and more uniform color.

What are the benefits of a chemical peel?

Peels such as the Vitalize Peel improves dull complexion, superficial lines and wrinkles, brown spots, uneven pigmentation, skin tone, and sun-damaged skin. Chemical peels can also be used to treat certain types of acne and to reverse breakouts, while softening any acne scars.

Plus, peels are safe for all skin types. And, by getting rid of dull surface cells, they make your skin – and skincare products – work better. That’s right! A chemical peel enables skincare products to be more effective because it removes several layers of dead skin cells, allowing for better product penetration.

To recap, chemical peels:

  • Improve skin tone and texture
  • Stimulate collagen production
  • Lift dead cells and trigger new skin cell growth
  • Improve fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduce discoloration
  • Clear up breakouts

What can I expect?

You can experience some facial redness, or peeling. This normally occurs between the second and fifth days after the treatment. This is completely normal and can be controlled with effective moisturizer. It is important to wear sunscreen following your peel and limit sun exposure for at least a week, as your skin will be more prone to sunburn immediately following a peel.
