Lose That Double Chin with Kybella

Are you bothered, or embarrassed by fat under the chin, also known as submental fullness? Do you feel this fullness makes you look older or heavier than you actually are? Then Kybella may be right for you!

What is Kybella?

Kybella is an FDA approved treatment specifically formulated to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin, often referred to as the “double chin.” Kybella contains an active ingredient called deoxycholic acid; a naturally occurring molecule found in our gallbladder. This molecule aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When Kybella is injected through a tiny needle into targeted areas, the fat cells are destroyed, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat again!

What to expect during treatment:

This in-office procedure requires just a few injections under the chin and should take about 2 minutes, with 15 minutes of preparation time.  Most patients will need between 4 to 6 treatments spaced about 6 weeks apart.

Post Treatment:

Kybella treatments have much less downtime, compared to surgery, mostly consisting of local swelling. This can last a few days and is decreased considerably by using a compression dressing.

“Off-label” Kybella can be used to melt fat in other areas of the body besides the chin: above the knee, around the navel, inner thigh, and for underarm bulge.
