What is Plasma Pen?  

Plasma Pen gives us amazing results with hardly any annoying downsides. Incisions? Nope. Stitches? Certainly not. Injections? None. In fact, Plasma Pen doesn’t even touch your skin!  

But don’t confuse an easy treatment with a weak treatment – this little pen packs a punch.   

Plasma Pen uses a controlled electric charge and energized nitrogen gas to contract the skin, creating tiny micro ablations. This process leaves tiny dots known as carbon crusts. These pinpoint ablations quickly heal to remodel collagen and elastin, which provides structure and pliability to the skin. 

Once healed, this treatment uncovers beautiful skin with less visible lines and a lifted, tightened appearance.

Compared to other skin treatments, Plasma Pen has incredible versatility of what and where it can treat. This device gives the technician the ability to target specific areas with precise correction. Unlike lasers, the tiny probe is the size of a 30g needle so it can get into areas that other devices simply cannot. 

For your face, Plasma Pen can create an eyebrow lift, minimize the appearance of crow’s feet, smooth out both horizontal and vertical forehead wrinkles, lift the corners of your mouth, reduce accordion folds, lift jowls, and contour your chin and jawline.

What should I expect during a treatment?  

There is no need to feel apprehensive before a Plasma Pen treatment! The procedure causes minimal discomfort or pain – especially with the use of topical anesthetics.  

While some areas (such as the delicate skin of the eyelids) are more sensitive than others, you can rest assured that you won’t be wincing while our team works their magic with Plasma Pen.  

What should I expect after a treatment?  

 Plasma Pen creates real results – so the recovery time is well worth it.  

Because of the non-invasive nature of Plasma Pen, this treatment is very low risk with minimal side effects and short downtime. If you want, you can go back to work that day!   

This is a long-term fix to loose, lined skin, so it requires a few days of making your skin a top priority. This includes avoiding high exertion, heat, and direct sunlight. Taking the recovery process seriously will maximize the results of the treatment!  

Recovery usually includes a stage where your skin is pink, tender, and can be slightly swollen. After the treatment, there are tiny pinpoint carbon crusts that form in the treated area. It is important not to disturb the skin during this part of the healing process, or else you risk scarring and discoloration. The crusts must be allowed to fall away naturally over about seven days. Once the area heals, it uncovers lifted, tightened skin.  

How long do results last?  

Don’t bother with a quick fix – Plasma Pen is a long-term solution.   

While you’ll see a change right after recovery, results will continue to improve over the next couple of months. Results from Plasma Pen can last from three to five years, with results lasting longer when recovery best practices are followed. For some treated conditions, results can be permanent!  

The longevity of results also depends on the number of treatments. Some patients are happy with their results after one appointment. Many patients want to undergo a few sessions to achieve their desired outcome. For patients that want to have multiple treatments, we recommend scheduling them 90 days apart.
