What is the process like?

When you visit our office for lip filler in Santa Barbara, we will apply a numbing cream to your lips and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Once you’re comfortable, we will administer the injections – it only takes a few minutes depending on your customized treatment plan.

When you and your expert are both satisfied with the results, we’ll give you special aftercare instructions, and you’ll be on your way! The appointment should only take about 40 minutes total.

Who is a candidate for lip filler?

What is recovery like?

Avoid any contact with your lips for the first 48 hours after getting injections. Your provider may recommend applying ice to the lips on and off to minimize swelling.

Are there side effects or risks?

If you notice minor side effects like swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness, there’s nothing to worry about. These side effects only last 1-2 days in most people. If you’re susceptible to cold sores, tell your provider – they might resurface temporarily following a lip injection treatment.

How long will the results last?

The lifespan of your results will depend on which dermal filler formulation you choose. Most fillers last between 6-12 months. Some hyaluronic acid fillers can last 18 months or longer!
